General Terms and Conditions of GOHack23

1. Liability
The organizer accepts no liability for any damages, injuries, or losses incurred during GOHack23. The organizer excludes all liability for its own actions as well as those of third parties, to the extent permitted by mandatory statutory provisions. In particular, the organizer shall not be held liable for any bodily injury or financial loss caused to participants by third parties. The organizer cannot be held responsible for any lost or stolen items.
2. Compensation for Damages
Claims for damages arising from a positive breach of contract, culpa in contrahendo, or tort are excluded, unless the organizer, its legal or statutory representatives, or its vicarious agents have acted with intent or gross negligence.
3. Code of Conduct
Participants are bound by the Code of Conduct, as mentioned in the GOHack23's guidelines. Any violations of the Code of Conduct may result in consequences determined by the event organizers, including expulsion from the GOHack23 without refund. Serious violations may also be reported to law enforcement, if necessary.
4. Intellectual Property
Participants retain ownership and intellectual property rights over their submissions unless stated otherwise. By participating in the GOHack23, participants grant the organizer a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use and display their submissions for promotional purposes.
5. Recordings
During the event, the organizer makes film, sound and photo recordings in which participants may be recognizable. These recordings may be used by the organizer for its own purposes (advertising, reporting, website, etc.). By attending the event, participants give their consent to the production and use of the recordings.
6. Confidentiality
Participants should respect the confidentiality of any sensitive information shared during the GOHack23. Participants are prohibited from disclosing or misusing such information without proper authorization.
7. Data Privacy
The overarching GObugfree data privacy policy also applies to GOHack23.
8. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Switzerland. The exclusive place of jurisdiction for any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms and conditions shall be Zurich.
9. Severability
If any provision of these terms and conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
By participating in the GOHack23, participants acknowledge and agree to these terms and conditions as well as the Code of Conduct.
